TVI - Arlington Heights, IL

This full-time contract opportunity runs from August 27, 2026, through June 9, 2027, and provides an engaging blend of collaboration, mentorship, and direct service as part of a dedicated Vision Related Services Department.
In this itinerant position, you'll travel between multiple sites serving students from Pre-K through transition ages, offering vital support to students, families, and school teams. A key leadership component of this role involves mentoring and coaching both new and experienced colleagues, contributing to best practices, and advocating for resources that make a real and lasting difference.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Active Professional Educator’s License (PEL) with endorsement for teaching students with visual impairments
- Master’s Degree required
- Minimum of 5 years of school-based experience supporting visually impaired students
- Experience in team leadership, coaching, mentoring, and training educational professionals
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills
- Successful fingerprinting/background check (time-sensitive requirement)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver vision-related instruction and services across multiple district schools
- Collaborate with families, staff, and administrators to ensure comprehensive student support
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and training to Vision Related Services Department colleagues
- Advocate for and facilitate access to resources necessary for students’ success
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all district, state, and federal requirements
