Key Qualifications:
- Current Oregon TVI (Teacher for the Visually Impaired) certification or licensure is required
- Experience working with K-12 students in a variety of educational settings
- Strong ability to adapt instruction for a range of learning styles and abilities
- Skilled in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, and family members
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel within the listed counties as needed
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and consultation for students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum as needed
- Conduct assessments to determine students’ unique educational needs
- Develop, monitor, and revise IEPs in collaboration with educational teams
- Support academic and social-emotional development of students
- Train and collaborate with classroom staff on best practices and assistive technology
- Maintain thorough records of student progress and services provided
