Position Highlights:
- Part-time schedule: 15 hours per week, ensuring a manageable yet impactful workload
- Service dates: August 26, 2026 – June 16, 2027
- Caseload: Approximately 8 students, variety of service needs ranging from weekly to quarterly
- All services delivered in person, providing consistency and strong relationships
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Completion of fingerprinting through OSPI prior to start date
- Experience providing instruction and support to students with visual impairments in an educational setting
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and families
- Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive strategies
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and specialized services to students based on their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Consult with school staff and families to tailor accommodations and materials
- Conduct assessments and maintain accurate documentation regarding goals and progress
- Stay current with best practices and strategies for supporting students with visual impairments
- Advocate for student access and inclusion in the school environment
