Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification for Visually Impaired/Blind students (TVI) in the state of Indiana
- Previous experience working with students who have visual impairments across K-12 populations preferred
- Strong knowledge of specialized instructional strategies, adaptive technology, and Braille
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and educational teams
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt curriculum
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to students with visual impairments in accordance with their IEPs
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods to meet unique learning needs
- Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers, staff, and families to optimize accessibility and inclusion
- Provide resources, training, and support on assistive technology and orientation & mobility techniques
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings
