This position involves direct instruction for two 2nd-grade students during the 2026-2027 school year, focusing on individualized, in-person services. One student will require braille instruction.
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Experience working with school-aged children, ideally in elementary settings
- Proficiency in braille instruction (required for one student)
- Knowledge of adaptive technology and resources for visually impaired students
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with educational teams

Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, individualized instruction to two 2nd-grade students according to their IEPs:
- Student 1: Three 45-minute sessions and one 10-minute session per week
- Student 2: One 45-minute session per week (four times per month)
- Plan and implement lessons that promote academic, social, and functional skills
- Assess and document student progress toward IEP goals
- Utilize and teach assistive technology and specialized materials
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support each student's growth
- Provide braille instruction, ensuring one student has access to appropriate learning tools
