Qualifications:
- Valid DOE teaching certification
- Demonstrated experience as a TVI, with itenerant experience preferred
- Familiarity with Braille instruction and usage of assistive technology (Federal Quota knowledge a plus)
- Comfortable working with students in both general education and multiple disabilities settings
- Willingness to complete fingerprint-based credentialing requirements
Responsibilities:
- Itinerant teaching across geographically assigned schools (full-time 35 hours a week; part-time may be considered)
- Provide direct instruction and support to students K-12+ who are visually impaired
- Integrate Braille and assistive technology into instructional plans
- Participate in IEP meetings utilizing the TN Pulse platform
- Collaborate with general and special education educators to optimize student learning
- Adapt curriculum and materials to meet students’ individual needs
