Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Endorsement is required
- Previous experience supporting students with visual impairments recommended
- Familiarity with adaptive technology and accessible curriculum design
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Commitment to promoting independence and success for students with visual impairments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments in individual and group settings
- Conduct assessments and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Consult with teachers, support staff, and families on best practices for accessibility and learning
- Provide orientation and mobility training to build students’ confidence and independence
- Adapt instructional materials and methods to support student learning
- Monitor progress and revise strategies to maximize student achievement
