Key Qualifications:
- Active North Carolina licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, including Orientation & Mobility (O&M) endorsement
- Experience using the ECATS system in school settings
- Proven ability to develop and implement individualized educational programs
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and educational teams
- Commitment to fostering independence and success for students with visual impairments
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and consultation to students with visual impairments in a school-based setting
- Assess students’ needs and create tailored learning plans
- Coordinate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure comprehensive support
- Utilize assistive technology and adaptive materials to promote access and learning
- Maintain detailed records, including documentation in ECATS
- Serve as an advocate and resource for students, promoting a positive and inclusive educational experience
