Qualifications & Experience

  • Active Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Certification required
  • Experience or training in Braille instruction preferred
  • Ability to manage a caseload including IEPs (direct services and Braille learners) and 504 plans
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and consultative services to a caseload of 18 students across varying schools
  • Serve 13 students with IEPs (4 direct, 3 learning Braille), and 5 with 504s
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in IEP and 504 meetings
  • Develop and implement individualized educational goals and adapt curriculum
  • Travel between assigned schools, managing service schedules and documentation
