Qualifications:
- Valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Certification is required
- Previous experience working with IEP and 504 plans is highly desirable
- Confident instruction in Braille for students requiring this support
- Adaptability to serve at multiple school locations as needed
- Commitment to inclusive education and advocacy for visually impaired students
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments, ages and grades as assigned
- Design and implement IEP goals and accommodations in collaboration with the student’s educational team
- Provide Braille and specialized materials, teaching techniques, and assistive technology
- Communicate progress and needs to school staff and families
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with school and legal guidelines
