- Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments, including those with 504 plans and individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Strong skills in delivering direct services and teaching braille
- Ability to adapt instruction and advocacy to student needs across multiple locations
- Comfort using specialized assistive technology and adaptive devices
- Excellent organizational and documentation abilities
- Commitment to fostering independence, confidence, and growth in students
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative instructional services for students with visual impairments
- Support and guide classroom educators in adapting materials and instruction
- Perform assessments and maintain accurate, up-to-date case files, including 13 IEPs and 5 504 plans
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary school teams, related service providers, and families
- Travel between schools within the district as needed to meet caseload demands
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student progress monitoring
