Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification required
- Experience working with students with visual impairments in a school setting preferred
- Proficiency in Braille and adaptive technologies a plus
- Strong communication and collaborative skills for engaging with students, families, and staff
- Ability to develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) and 504 accommodations
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative TVI services to students according to individualized education plans
- Teach Braille, technology, and adaptive skills to support students’ academic and personal growth
- Collaborate with general and special education staff to ensure accessible curriculum and inclusion
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes for IEP and 504 compliance
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to student evaluations
