Qualifications:
- Valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification is required
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with visual impairments
- Skilled in Braille instruction and adaptive technology
- Strong collaboration skills to partner with special educators, paraprofessionals, and families
- Commitment to individualized, student-centered support
Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored instruction to students with visual impairments, including Braille and assistive technology training
- Develop and monitor IEPs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance and best practices
- Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to align with students’ needs
- Offer consultative support and resources to school staff and families
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in eligibility and IEP meetings
