Desired Qualifications:
- Hold an active North Carolina teaching license with TVI (Teachers of the Visually Impaired) and O&M (Orientation & Mobility) endorsement.
- Demonstrated experience in educational settings, working directly with visually impaired students.
- Familiarity with ECATS or comparable educational data systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, working closely with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Adaptable, patient, and committed to delivering individualized educational services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support tailored to meet the diverse needs of visually impaired students in a school setting.
- Conduct assessments, develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), and track student progress.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure accessibility and inclusion in all academic environments.
- Provide orientation and mobility training to help students navigate their surroundings independently and safely.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all state regulations and school policies.
