The assignment location within the district will be determined based on current needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Active North Carolina TVI license with O&M (Orientation & Mobility) Endorsement
- Previous experience providing educational support to students who are visually impaired
- Proficiency with ECATS (Exceptional Children Accountability Tracking System)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with educational teams and families
- Ability to design and adapt individualized instruction across grade levels
- Confidence navigating digital IEP systems and maintaining detailed records
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and develop accommodations for students with visual impairments
- Conduct assessments and establish individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Partner closely with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families
- Provide orientation and mobility training, along with adaptive technology recommendations
- Support accessibility of curriculum materials and learning environments
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to multidisciplinary teams
