This long-term, full-time contract position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teacher of the Visually Impaired looking to build impactful relationships and foster student growth. The role is on-site and open to travel professionals seeking both professional and personal enrichment.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) required
  • Valid state Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
  • Experience providing instructional support to visually impaired students, ideally in 1:1 pediatric settings
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with families, support staff, and related service providers
  • Adaptable, resourceful, and committed to flexible learning techniques
  • Willingness to work on-site and support students in a school-based environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction and support to a student with visual impairment, tailoring educational plans to meet unique learning needs
  • Implement adaptive technology and materials to facilitate access to curriculum
  • Monitor the student’s academic and developmental progress, maintaining clear and regular documentation
  • Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and parents to develop and adjust individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning atmosphere
  • Participate in school meetings, training, and professional development as required
