The assignment runs from July 27th, 2026, to May 25th, 2027, with a part-time schedule averaging about 20 hours per week.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education – Visual Impairment (P–12) teaching certificate, OR
- Special Education certificate with a Visual Impairment endorsement
- Demonstrated experience working with students who are visually impaired
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to travel between multiple school locations as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments, tailored to IEP goals
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student access to the general curriculum
- Provide direct service, consultation, and instructional strategies for students and educators
- Conduct and interpret functional vision assessments
- Adapt materials and resources for accessibility
- Advise staff on technology and tools that promote participation and inclusivity for visually impaired learners
- Maintain thorough records and contribute to IEP meetings
