Step into a fulfilling contract position as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) serving students in the K-12 age range near vibrant Atlanta, GA. In this role, you'll work a consistent 37.5-hour week for the 2026-2027 school year. You'll perform standard TVI responsibilities and team up with other Teachers for the Visually Impaired as well as Orientation & Mobility specialists to deliver a supportive, comprehensive educational experience.
Ideal Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
- Previous experience supporting K-12 students with visual impairments preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and adaptive technology
- Comfortable collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including O&M professionals
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt instructional materials and strategies based on student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and educational support to visually impaired students across grade levels
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Modify classroom materials and deliver lessons using adaptive tools and techniques
- Collaborate with fellow TVIs, classroom educators, O&M staff, and families
- Monitor and document student progress
