Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or higher is required
- Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (state credential required)
- Previous experience working 1:1 with visually impaired children is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of adaptive technology and braille instruction
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt strategies to individual student needs in a school environment
- Willingness to work full-time, on-site; open to travel professionals
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to a student with visual impairments in alignment with their IEP goals
- Develop and adapt lesson materials, utilizing assistive technologies and braille as needed
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent progress
- Advocate for accessibility and promote inclusivity within the school community
- Document and report on student progress, adapting interventions as appropriate
