This full-time itinerant role (with potential for part-time consideration) covers a range of school sites and spans services for students from Pre-K to transition age. As the Vision Related Services Leader, you will not only provide direct instruction and support to students but also guide staff through best practices, mentor new and returning teachers, lead training initiatives, and problem-solve in a collaborative environment. By working across multiple campuses, you’ll gain insight into diverse school settings, leadership strategies, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, greatly enhancing your professional growth and résumé.
Qualifications:
- Active Professional Educator’s License (PEL) with endorsement for teaching students with visual impairments
- Master’s Degree required
- Minimum five (5) years of school-based experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Completion of fingerprinting and time-sensitive credentialing
Responsibilities:
- Deliver vision-related instructional services to students ages Pre-K to transition age
- Travel between multiple school sites in the district
- Mentor, coach, and train new and returning TVI staff
- Provide consultative support, advocacy, and resource coordination
- Collaborate with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams
