What you’ll need:
- Active Indiana Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license
- Experience working with students who have visual impairments in grades K-12 preferred
- Strong understanding of Braille, assistive technologies, and adaptive teaching strategies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to consult with teachers, staff, and families
- Adaptability to serve multiple school sites as needed within the district
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Your role will include:
- Providing direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments across the K-12 spectrum
- Developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) specific to visual needs
- Working closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to support student access to the curriculum
- Training staff on adaptive technology and accessible materials
- Monitoring student progress and adapting lessons to maximize independence and success
- Participating in IEP meetings, professional development, and district initiatives
This full-time contract position offers a 35 hour per week schedule for the 2026-2027 school year, from November 2nd, 2026 through June 7th, 2027.
