Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) is required
- Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Previous experience in school settings preferred, especially in 1:1 or pediatric roles
- Demonstrated skill in developing and delivering individualized instruction for students with visual impairments
- Strong collaboration abilities with special education teams, therapists, and caregivers
- Adaptability to meet a range of student needs and learning styles in a dynamic environment
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct 1:1 instruction and support tailored to a visually impaired student
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods as necessary
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to promote inclusion and academic success
- Maintain thorough documentation and participate in IEP meetings and progress reviews
- Offer recommendations for accommodations and assistive technology to maximize student independence
