Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) required
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (state required)
- Prior experience working with pediatric populations preferred
- Commitment to supporting students in a 1:1, long-term capacity
- Strong communication, advocacy, and organizational abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored, individualized instruction to students with visual impairments in alignment with their educational goals
- Develop and implement instructional materials and strategies that accommodate each student’s unique needs
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to create comprehensive support plans
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary to enhance learning outcomes
