Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) is required
- Active state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired is mandatory
- Previous experience with 1:1 instruction, preferably in pediatric or school-based settings
- Strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and school staff
- Flexibility, commitment, and a genuine enthusiasm for supporting visually impaired learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized instructional support to a student with visual impairments, ensuring access to the curriculum and fostering independence
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet student-specific needs and goals
- Collaborate with education teams, families, and support staff to develop and implement effective learning strategies
- Monitor student progress and maintain thorough documentation
- Participate in planning meetings, IEP development, and professional growth activities as required by the school
