Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) required
- Current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Previous experience working 1:1 with pediatric students is highly valued
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies for individual student needs
- Commitment to supporting and empowering visually impaired learners
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to a visually impaired student within the school setting
- Adapt curriculum materials and classroom activities to ensure accessibility
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education teams, and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide guidance on assistive technology and accommodations
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Create a safe, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment
