Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) required
- State Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Experience working 1:1 with pediatric students strongly preferred
- Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching materials for visually impaired learners
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to a student with visual impairments, ensuring access to educational materials and curriculum
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and family members to develop and implement effective learning strategies
- Perform assessments and create progress reports tracking student achievements and areas of growth
- Modify instructional techniques and materials, utilizing adaptive technology as appropriate
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and confidence
