Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Previous experience supporting students with visual impairments at the K-12 level
- Strong understanding of accessible instructional strategies, including the use of assistive technology and Braille
- Effective time management skills, especially with itinerant schedules and multi-campus caseloads
- Excellent communication and collaboration with general and special education teams, families, and support staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve students with visual impairments across 10 campuses, alternating your presence according to their needs
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored for each student on your caseload (approximately 25 students)
- Collaborate with general educators and related service providers to ensure curriculum adaptation and classroom accessibility
- Provide direct instruction in compensatory skills, assistive technology, orientation and mobility, and self-advocacy
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress notes in line with district and state guidelines
- Utilize an assigned office space at the administration annex for planning, meetings, and consultations
