Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) required
- Current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired by the state
- Experience providing one-on-one support, ideally in pediatric or school-based settings
- Strong communication skills and the flexibility to adapt instruction to individual student needs
- Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary school teams and families
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and adaptive materials to ensure student access to curriculum
- Develop and implement IEP goals tailored for a visually impaired student
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, aides, and related service providers for comprehensive support
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Communicate regularly with parents and school staff about progress and accommodations
- Advocate for accessibility and resources to maximize student independence and success
