Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Valid TVI educator license is required
- Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in K-12 settings (preferred)
- Comprehensive understanding of assessment tools, adaptive technology, and braille instruction
- Strong communication skills to coordinate services across a districtwide caseload
- Capable of working independently while collaborating with teachers, families, and support staff
- Passion for advocating for accessible learning environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and consultation to students with visual impairments across multiple schools
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Assess students’ vision-related educational needs and recommend appropriate adaptations
- Collaborate with general and special education staff to support inclusive practices
- Guide students in using assistive technology, mobility tools, and adaptive techniques
- Provide support and resources to families and caregivers
