This part-time contract opportunity is available throughout the 2026-2027 school year, from August 26, 2026, to June 16, 2027. In this important role, you’ll work directly with a caseload of approximately 8 students, managing a flexible blend of weekly, monthly, and quarterly service minutes, totaling around 15 hours each week.
Key Qualifications:
- Certified as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Washington State (WA TVI Certification required)
- Must complete fingerprinting through OSPI as part of the onboarding process
- Prior experience supporting K-12 students with visual impairments is highly valued
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Ability to adapt instruction for individualized student needs and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility to work onsite only
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, ensuring access to curriculum and participation in school activities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) aligned to student needs
- Consult with classroom teachers, families, and other school professionals to coordinate services and strategies
- Provide direct instruction in assistive technology, Braille, orientation & mobility, and compensatory skills
- Maintain accurate records of service delivery and progress monitoring
