Qualifications:
- Certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with K-12 students in educational settings
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other Teachers for the Visually Impaired and Orientation & Mobility (O&M) specialists
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of IEP processes and adaptive technology for visually impaired students
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments across a K-12 caseload
- Adapt curriculum and materials to meet diverse learning needs
- Assess students’ functional vision and education progress
- Collaborate closely with other TVIs, O&M professionals, general educators, and families
- Contribute to the development and implementation of IEPs
- Stay current with best practices and tools for visual impairment education
