As a full-time position running the full school year, you’ll support a manageable caseload of 12 to 18 students, ensuring meaningful relationships and individualized instruction. The consistent 8:00 am to 3:30 pm shift (with lunch included within the 7.5-hour day) allows you to maintain work-life balance while still taking advantage of nearby sights, parks, and cultural opportunities during your downtime.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Certification/licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
- Previous experience serving diverse student populations across EC-12
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of visual impairments
- Comfort with travel to multiple district locations
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instructional services for students with visual impairments (ages EC-12)
- Travel throughout Lake County to serve students across various schools
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and administrators
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Utilize adaptive technology and materials to support student learning
