Qualifications and Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) is mandatory
- Current state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Proven experience working 1:1 with pediatric students preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration abilities
- Willingness to engage in a full-time, on-site commitment for the duration of the contract
- Openness to working in diverse educational settings and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver customized educational programs for students with visual impairments, tailored to individual needs and learning goals
- Provide direct 1:1 instruction, utilizing adaptive technology and Braille as needed
- Collaborate closely with general and special education staff, therapists, and families to support student progress
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum materials and classroom environments to ensure accessibility and promote independence
- Monitor, assess, and document student achievements and adjust strategies accordingly
- Participate in relevant school meetings, professional development, and evaluate evolving student needs
