Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Marietta, GA
Empower students of all abilities with a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 learners as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)! You’ll be part of a collaborative network of dedicated professionals, engaging with fellow TVIs and Orientation & Mobility specialists to create meaningful educational experiences.
As a TVI, you’ll deliver tailored instruction and adapt curriculum to ensure access and participation for visually impaired students across a variety of grade levels. This role is based near Marietta, GA, and is set for the 2026/27 school year, working a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. Your expertise will help foster independence and confidence in the classroom and beyond.
Ideal Candidates Will Bring:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
- Previous experience teaching K-12 students with visual impairments
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to design and implement individualized instructional plans
- Experience partnering with Orientation & Mobility professionals is a plus
- Commitment to fostering accessibility and inclusion in educational settings
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Providing direct and consultative TVI services for students
- Assessing student needs and developing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Modifying classroom materials and utilizing assistive technology as needed
- Collaborating effectively with educators, O&M specialists, and school staff
- Maintaining accurate documentation and progress monitoring
