Although these are itinerant roles, assignments are strategically clustered within close geographic areas to mitigate travel demands.

The district’s streamlined TN Pulse platform simplifies IEP management, so you can focus on active student support and robust collaboration during IEP development meetings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current and active DOE certification
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as a virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired for virtual applicants
  • Proficiency with Braille and assistive technology
  • Knowledge of accessing assistive technology through the Federal Quota program (preferred)
  • Willingness to travel between assigned schools (travel kept minimal)
  • Strong commitment to collaborative IEP planning and execution
  • Fingerprint clearance per requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative instruction for K-12+ students with visual impairments
  • Support student access to curriculum, including technology use (Chromebooks)
  • Engage in IEP development, monitoring, and meetings
  • Travel within an assigned, minimized area between school sites
