Preferred Qualifications:
- Current and active DOE certification
- Minimum of five years’ experience as a virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired for virtual applicants
- Proficiency with Braille and assistive technology
- Knowledge of accessing assistive technology through the Federal Quota program (preferred)
- Willingness to travel between assigned schools (travel kept minimal)
- Strong commitment to collaborative IEP planning and execution
- Fingerprint clearance per requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative instruction for K-12+ students with visual impairments
- Support student access to curriculum, including technology use (Chromebooks)
- Engage in IEP development, monitoring, and meetings
- Travel within an assigned, minimized area between school sites
