Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Washington TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) licensure required
- Previous experience in a school setting or with K-12 students, preferred
- Strong knowledge of instructional strategies and technology for students with visual impairments
- Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, families, and IEP teams
- Comfort with both in-person and virtual/remote instruction
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to meet the unique needs of students with visual impairments
- Conduct assessments and contribute to individual education plans (IEPs) as an integral team member
- Teach compensatory skills, including Braille, orientation and mobility basics, assistive technology, and self-advocacy
- Provide on-site or remote support and consultation to general education teachers and staff
- Maintain documentation related to student progress, goal achievement, and service delivery
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment across various school locations or digital platforms
