Qualifications and Experience:
- Holds a valid Washington TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) certification
- Experience or training working with students who are visually impaired, across various grade levels
- Comfortable with either in-person instruction or remote/virtual teaching methods
- Familiarity with itinerant teaching best practices and effective collaboration with multiple schools and teams
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students who are visually impaired, adapting curriculum and materials as needed to promote access and success
- Collaborate closely with educators, administrators, and families to develop and implement IEPs and individualized learning strategies
- Travel as needed between locations (itinerant) or utilize digital tools for virtual instruction and case management
- Maintain appropriate documentation and progress monitoring for each student on your caseload
- Offer consultation to staff on inclusion strategies, environmental adaptations, and assistive technology
- Support students’ independence, self-advocacy, and full participation in school activities
