Qualifications/Required Experience:

  • Current Oregon licensure or certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Experience or strong interest in supporting students with a variety of visual impairments in a school setting
  • Ability to serve K-12 students, adapting your approach as needed for different age groups and abilities
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with teachers, families, and other service providers
  • Familiarity with instructional strategies, tools, and technology relevant to visually impaired learners
  • Comfortable working in-person across multiple county locations or virtually (VOCO)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct, individualized instruction to students with visual impairments on assigned caseloads
  • Consult and collaborate with general and special education staff to adapt materials and curriculum
  • Support students’ access to educational content through assistive technology and Braille instruction, as appropriate
  • Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and documentation as required by district and state guidelines
  • Travel between sites within the Jackson, Josephine, Douglas, Klamath, and Lake Counties (for in-person roles)
