Key Qualifications:
- Valid Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) teaching certificate with a Vision endorsement
- Experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or similar school-based setting
- Proficiency in Braille highly valued; assignments may be customized based on Braille expertise
- Strong communication and organization skills for collaborating in a multi-school, team-based environment
- Ability to attend and participate in IEP meetings virtually while based onsite
- Completion of required credentialing steps, including fingerprinting, background check, and employment history review
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct vision education and services to assigned students as outlined in their IEPs
- Travel between schools within a geographically organized cluster to support students
- Participate in IEP meetings virtually, minimizing disruption to student support
- Maintain clear documentation and regular communication with other Teachers for the Visually Impaired and Orientation & Mobility staff
- Contribute to a collaborative, student-centered atmosphere focused on positive outcomes
