Ideal Background & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) required
- Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Experience working 1:1 with pediatric students, preferably in a school setting
- Strong communication abilities for collaborating with educational teams, families, and related services
- Adaptability and resourcefulness to tailor instruction to a student’s unique learning modalities
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning atmosphere

What You’ll Do:
- Deliver one-on-one instruction and support tailored to a visually impaired student’s needs, ensuring access to curriculum and full participation in classroom activities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), setting measurable goals in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Adapt classroom materials and environments for optimal accessibility
- Monitor progress, document outcomes, and adjust strategies as necessary
- Communicate regularly with staff and family regarding student growth and challenges
