Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- State-issued Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired credential
- Experience supporting students with visual impairments, especially in 1:1 settings
- Strong communication skills, patience, and collaborative nature to coordinate with families and school teams
- Willingness to commit to a long-term, contract role
- Openness to working full-time on location
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support to a pediatric student with visual impairment in a one-on-one capacity
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt curriculum materials to meet sensory and learning needs
- Employ assistive technologies and instructional strategies to promote access and participation in classroom activities
- Work closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to ensure the best outcomes for the student
- Track progress, update documentation, and attend meetings related to the student’s educational plans
