Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Previous experience working with school-age students preferred
- Strong knowledge of specialized instructional strategies and adaptive technology
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs for students with visual impairments
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting teaching materials as needed
- Assess students’ abilities and progress, communicating regularly with families and educational staff
- Consult with classroom teachers and other professionals to help create accessible learning environments
- Introduce technology, tools, and resources that foster independence in visually impaired students
- Contribute to IEP meetings and documentation requirements
