Teacher of Visually Impaired in Naperville, IL

This full-time, contract opportunity gives you the flexibility to work across multiple sites within Kane and Will County, serving K-12 students throughout the school year. With 37.5 hours per week and a flexible schedule, you’ll travel between campuses, allowing for a dynamic and rewarding workday.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid TVI certification and teaching credentials for Illinois
- Prior experience working with visually impaired or blind students, preferably K-12
- Strong understanding of adapted curriculum and accessible teaching strategies
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Competence in using and instructing assistive technology
- Ability to travel between multiple school sites; reliable transportation required
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative instructional services to students with visual impairments
- Collaborate with general and special education teachers, families, and support staff
- Assess students’ needs and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Adapt materials into braille, large print, and other accessible formats
- Provide training and support with assistive technology devices
- Track progress through comprehensive documentation and data collection
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to student success planning
