Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Saint Charles, IL

Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois SLI License
- Professional Educator’s License (PEL)
- Certification and experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Proven ability to work with students with visual impairments in school settings
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Up-to-date knowledge of effective strategies and assistive technology for visually impaired students
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to visually impaired students in accordance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Develop and modify lesson materials and curriculum to ensure accessibility
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to promote student progress
- Maintain detailed records of student performance and adjust interventions as needed
- Advocate for appropriate accommodations and resources
- Remain current on best practices for educating students with visual impairments
