Qualifications:
- State of Colorado Teaching License required
- Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) and/or Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS)
- Experience supporting K–12 students with visual impairments preferred
- Proficiency in Braille instruction and adaptive technology
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to adapt to varying school practices and schedules
- Full-time availability (37.5 hours per week)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver services to students with visual impairments in educational, classroom, and community settings
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Provide orientation and mobility instruction for students, teaching safe travel skills
- Collaborate with other educators, service providers, and families to ensure comprehensive care
- Assist with adaptive technology, Braille resources, and accessible classroom materials
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress reporting
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and school-based activities as needed
