What you’ll need to succeed:
- Colorado teaching license (required)
- Current TVI and/or COMS credentials
- Experience working with K-12 students who are visually impaired
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Adaptability and commitment to individualized student needs
Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
- Designing and delivering instruction aligned with IEP goals for visually impaired students
- Conducting functional vision assessments and developing appropriate materials and strategies
- Offering guidance on assistive technology and accessible classroom modifications
- Collaborating with general educators, special education teams, and families to ensure student success and full participation
- Teaching orientation and mobility skills to help students navigate their environments safely and confidently
- Monitoring and documenting student progress, updating educational plans as needed
This position is full-time, offering 37.5 hours per week throughout the duration of the contract. You’ll have the flexibility to focus on supporting diverse learning needs and play a crucial role in empowering students to reach their highest potential.
