Teacher for the Visually Impaired - Naperville, Illinois

Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching credentials/certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with K-12 students who are blind or visually impaired
- Ability to adapt curriculum and educational materials to meet individual student needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with staff, students, and families
- Comfortable traveling between multiple schools within assigned counties
- Knowledge of assistive technology and Braille instruction is a plus
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative support for visually impaired students in general and special education settings
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Adapt instructional materials, teach Braille and technology skills, and promote self-advocacy
- Travel to various schools within Kane and Will Counties based on student caseload (mileage reimbursed)
- Participate in team meetings, family conferences, and ongoing professional development
