ProCare Therapy Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Contract Today Apply

Make an impact by supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) and/or Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Specialist on a contract basis in the Naperville area. This dynamic opportunity allows you to provide crucial instructional and mobility support across multiple schools within the district, fostering independence and learning for students with visual impairments. This position begins as soon as possible and is expected to continue through late December 2026, with the potential for extension to a full academic year.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with certification in Visual Impairments (TVI) and/or Orientation & Mobility
  • Experience working with students with visual impairments in school settings
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive tools for visually impaired students
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
  • Reliable transportation to travel between assigned schools

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum as required
  • Provide orientation and mobility services, fostering student independence and safe navigation
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and IEP teams to support student inclusion and progress
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and document student growth and needs
  • Serve as a resource and advocate for best practices in visual impairment education
  • Rotate between up to three schools for TVI and three for O&M services (assignments subject to change)
