Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Demonstrated proficiency with braille instruction and adaptive technology
- Experience consulting with educators, administrators, and parents to support student IEP goals
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage an itinerant schedule and travel between multiple school sites
- Passion for inclusive education and empowering visually impaired students
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide consultative services to general and special education staff, ensuring accessibility across the curriculum
- Deliver individualized instruction in braille, assistive technology, and other unique skills as needed
- Support the development, adaptation, and modification of instructional materials and classroom environments
- Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to student assessments, and document progress toward educational goals
- Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to promote student independence and engagement
