Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Visual Impairment (CA credential preferred)
- Experience working as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in K-12 settings
- Proficiency in braille instruction and familiarity with assistive technology for visual impairments
- Strong skills in collaboration, consultation, and effective communication with educators, families, and support staff
- Ability to travel between school sites as part of an itinerant role
- Commitment to promoting inclusion and accessibility for all learners
Responsibilities:
- Provide consultative services to educators, adapting curriculum and recommending accommodations that foster student independence
- Deliver targeted braille instruction for students requiring direct skill support
- Assess and monitor student progress, updating educational teams and families regularly
