1:1 1:1 Pediatric Teacher of Visually Impaired in Okemos, MI

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) and a valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Demonstrated experience providing 1:1 instruction or support to children, especially in educational environments
- Strong understanding of adaptive techniques, Braille, and assistive technology for visually impaired learners
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to tailor instructional methods to individual needs and advocate for student success
- Commitment to fostering a safe, encouraging, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized educational services to a student with visual impairments, in accordance with IEP goals
- Adapt curriculum materials and classroom environments to ensure accessibility and maximize learning
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, family members, and staff to develop and implement support strategies
- Monitor progress and adjust instructional approaches to promote independence and confidence
- Provide resources and guidance on adaptive technologies and strategies
- Maintain necessary documentation and participate in regular meetings and trainings
